An incredible circus spectacular and a feel-good music event will be the first shows that will take place in the Assembly Festival Garden this summer, the Coventry City of Culture Trust has announced along with a whole host of new programme activity.

Coventry Moves – the signature event for Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 – takes place on Saturday 5 June. 

Coventry and Warwickshire’s world-leading transport innovation will be showcased during a year of celebration and activities, starting this July.

The people of Coventry are being invited to join together and play their part in the epic and unique final moment of Coventry Moves – the signature event for the year as UK City of Culture. 

Today, 20 May, Coventry UK City of Culture Trust revealed six well-known people who will play a starring role in the signature event, Coventry Moves on 5 June.

Coventry UK City of Culture is delighted to announce that Assembly Festival will be setting up, programming and running a substantial new hub venue in the city centre, Assembly Festival Garden.

Coventry City of Culture Trust has reaffirmed its commitment to Coventry being the ‘greenest’ ever UK City of Culture with the creation of a new code.

A new exhibition has been launched at a Coventry art gallery as it builds towards UK City of Culture 2021.

Spirit of 2012 – the London 2012 legacy fund – has awarded a major £1 million grant to Coventry City of Culture Trust to facilitate a programme of cultural activities, working with community organisations across the city.
