You are here > Digital Visitor Engagement Update - July
We want to keep you informed about the project as we work together to develop the Digital Visitor Information Network (DVIN), Integrated Digital Engagement Analytics (IDEA) for the West Midlands region, outlining how and when you can participate, as well as how we will support you through the process.
West Midlands Growth Company commissioned CTConsults to deliver the DVE strand of work through to March 2023 as part of the wider BATP to support and enhance the visitor experience around the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and leave a lasting legacy.
The DVE strand will enable visitors to discover and book cultural, leisure, sporting, and tourism products through the channels that are most convenient for them and that offer them the best value. At the same time, it will provide you as destinations or cultural partners with the digital capabilities and insights you need to operate more efficiently and to grow.
CTConsults and its developer partner OH Digital are working together on the development of the new DVIN listings platform which will go live by the end of October 2021.
The DVIN will allow partners to submit and update their event and venue information via destination websites or automated feeds; consolidate listings from across the West Midlands on a single, centrally-managed database; make listings from across the region accessible through a single, highly filterable API; and help you as destinations or cultural partners connect to DVIN and update your own websites to promote the regional offer.
We are pleased to announce that Visit Birmingham and Visit Solihull will be working with us to pilot test the new DVIN over the summer and autumn.
We will work closely with Visit Solihull and their website developer Core Marketing to connect their new destination website to the DVIN platform including API connections. Similarly, CTConsults, OH Digital and West Midlands Growth Company will connect VisitBirmingham.com to the DVIN platform too.
We’re in the process of confirming the DVIN cultural partner who will work with us to pilot test the new platform prior to its launch in October.
Using the new Google Analytics 4, we will work with you as destinations and cultural partners to improve your digital marketing campaign & website measurement; securely draw in anonymous visitor engagement data from connected partners' Google Analytics and from the DVIN; create dashboard-style reports that show provision across the region and engagement by visitor segment, destination, category, etc; and enable you to improve your own digital engagement and increase the impact of collaborative marketing.
IDEA will also go live by the end of October 2021.
We are grateful to the following cultural partners who have agreed to work with us to shape the IDEA dashboard and reporting over the summer and autumn: Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Black Country Living Museum, Ikon Gallery, Core Theatre, Solihull, Culture Coventry, Herbert Gallery, Compton Verney, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.
CTConsults are working with The Audience Agency to provide bespoke support to cultural partners participating in both the DVIN and IDEA strands of work.
A new project support desk is launching on Monday 2nd August to offer guidance to partners during the project set up and delivery phases until the end of March 2023. Hosted by The Audience Agency, the support desk will be open Monday to Friday 10am – 6pm.
When you contact the support desk you will generate a Support Ticket which will be responded to by one of the Project Support Team within 24 hours.
If you require a call back and would like to talk to someone in person please send a request with a brief description of your query. A member of the Project Support Team will then arrange a time to call you back.
The Audience Agency can also request support on your behalf from the project lead CTConsults and West Midlands Growth Company.
The Audience Agency has also collated a really useful guide to help you get started. We would encourage you to check here in the first instance.
