Located in the heart of the city, our spectacular Tea room by day and restaurant by night, our Tales of Tea restaurant can be found at St Mary's Guildhall. We use quality ingredients that create delicious dishes with exquisite flavours.

Dine with us for brunch, lunch, a spot of afternoon tea or a' la carte Saturday evening dining*

Enjoy fine food and drinks, in our unique restaurant located in the atmospheric Undercroft of St Mary's Guildhall.

Please note: The Tales of Tea restaurant is a cashless site, with only card payments taken. Afternoon tea is only available via advanced pre-booking. Please clearly state if you require the sweet or savoury afternoon tea at time of booking.

Tales of Tea closes for daytime dining at 5pm, please ensure you arrive at your booked time as tables will only be held for a limited time. Saturday evening a' la carte dining starts 13th May 2023.

Road Directions

If you’re planning a trip to visit the Tales of Tea restaurant by car, you can park in the city centre at a variety of available car parks. The closest ones are; Salt Lane Multi-Storey, or Grove Street surface car park. For further details please visit Parking - Coventry City Council.

Public Transport Directions

Whether you’re travelling by bus, coach, or train, St Mary’s Guildhall is centrally located in Coventry city centre so is nearby to public transport.

The following buses; 11, 55, U12, X1, and X18, all have stops nearby. If arriving by train, Coventry Station is just a short 13 minute walk to the Guildhall. There is various parking in the city around the Cathedral or the Herbet for people arriving by coach. For disabled guests, there is a drop off location along Priory Road where coaches can park.
