Restored to its Edwardian Arts and Craft splendour, Winterbourne House is a unique heritage attraction – set within seven acres of beautiful botanic gardens.

Only minutes from Birmingham city centre, Winterbourne is a hidden gem – home to beautiful antiques and over 6,000 plant species from around the world. Wander along the woodland walk, stroll through the hazelnut tunnel, cross the 1930’s Japanese Bridge or simply soak up the tranquility of this perfectly English Edwardian home.

      Road Directions

      Only a few miles from the city centre, it is just off the main A38 route leaving the city towards the South West. Our postcode of B15 2RT will take you to the door.

      Public Transport Directions

      Travelling here by train Direct trains from Birmingham New Street on the cross city line to University station then a 10 minute walk across campus.

      Travelling here by other BUS: The X20, X21 and X22 buses stop just round the corner from Winterbourne. It picks up from the city centre by Moor Street Station. More details about frequency and other stops can be found on the National Express Bus website www.nxbus.co.uk. Travelling here by bike: Many cyclists use the University campus and Winterbourne is easy to cycle to from most locations. We now have bike racks available at the front of the house next to the Nicolson Building. If you are a larger group of cyclists, please notify us in advance.

      • All Areas Accessible to Disabled Visitors - Winterbourne House has disabled access throughout the ground floor including the heritage rooms, tea room and terrace. Most of the botanic garden is also accessible although some paths are uneven so care must be taken.
